Educators: Have you ever wondered what it’s like to be part of a school-wide implementation of IXL? This year, we’re presenting a video series following Voices College-Bound Language Academies (Franklin-McKinley campus) in its first year of using IXL.
Voices is a dual-language (English and Spanish) K-8 charter school in San Jose, CA. The school’s curriculum places an emphasis on differentiation and meeting students at their individual level, and edtech products are widely used, whether as part of centers or station rotations, in-class work, or homework. During the 2016-17 school year, Voices made IXL’s adaptive learning program available to all of its teachers to support their instruction with engaging and targeted skill practice; real-time analytics; and comprehensive math, language arts, science, and social studies content.
We recently checked in with a couple of teachers at Voices to see how their school year was kicking off and how they were using IXL in their classrooms. In just a few months, teachers Karissa Gonzalez and Ivan Luquin have already benefited from using IXL to reinforce concepts taught in class and from using IXL Analytics to guide their instruction. Check out the video below to hear more from Karissa and Ivan!
Stay tuned for the next video in our series, coming to you in early 2017! And, subscribe to IXL’s YouTube channel to see all the latest IXL tips and tricks, professional development webinars, and more!
